This descriptive correlational study was undertaken in order to examine if there were relationships between oral trait and feeding methods in university students.
The Gottheil´s oral trait scale used in this study was developed by Gottheil in 1965 and is a questionaire form with 40 items.
This subjects were 178 Breast feeding students and 122 artificial feeding students in Chungnam National University in Korea, from April 29 to May 11, 1986.
The results of the study were as follows：
1. The oral trait score was not different significantly between the group of breast feeding and the group of artificial feeding.
2. The oral trait score was higher in the group of female than in the group of male-in all groups (breast feeding and artificial feeding).
3. There was significant difference between factor variable and sex in breast feeding-Rivalry, Isolation, Dependency, Timidity,
4. There was significantly difference between factor variable and sex in artificial feeding-Rivaly, Excessive demandingness, Repentance, Isolation.
